Lady Bug Dreams

Adoption Legacy

June 16, 2005 - Legacy of An Adopted Child -
Once there were two women, Who never knew each other.
One you do not remember, the other you call mother.
Two different lives, Shaped to make yours one.
One became your guiding star, The other became your sun.
The first gave you life, The second taught you to live it.
The first gave you a need for love, And the second was there to give it.
One gave you a nationality, The other gave you a name.
One gave you the seed of talent, The other gave you an aim.
One gave you emotions, The other calmed your fears.
One saw your first sweet smile, The other dried you tears.
One gave you up, It was all that she could do.
The other prayed for a child, And God led her straight to you.
And now you ask me through your tears, The age old question through the years.
Heredity or enviroment - Which are you a product of?
Neither, my darling, neither,
Just two different kinds of love.

Official LID Notification

June 12 2005 - We were informed that our official LID (Logged in Date) from China was May 17th. The clock is ticking! We are pretty certain that we will name our daughter, Gabrielle "Brie" Marie Hill. We will still use her china name as a second middle name if we like it. I have started making a shopping list so I will not forget. I bet it will be pretty busy and I don't want to forget anything. There is so much to buy!

Brown Envelope

June 6 2005 - I wish I could say that time is flying by, but it's not. Still waiting to hear back from GWC what our LID date is. We did receive the "brown envelope" this weekend. It was nothing special, just some blank forms that we need to take to China. We worked on the nursery and it is all done. It really turned out beautiful. We just love it(even the boys). I find myself sitting in there and listening to the chinese music. It's so peaceful. I can imagine Brie in her crib sleeping. I know that we still have a long time to wait and pray often that the time will pass quickly. I take comfort in knowing that others have endured this waiting and have gotten their reward. This to shall pass and our reward will be great!
